This year I turned 48, which me appeals to my love of all things science-y (I hate math) for its simple numeral structure (4+4+=8). Keep it simple and that is exactly what I plan on doing this year. Some years come in with a bang and stay that way until you cry uncle. I had one of those last year. I needed a break and as we full time memory keepers know – we do it via our crafting. I have worked hard to carve out some personal scrap time in between the usual scrapping but calling it “work” time, hahaha! This week I had moment amid the chaos to create.
Life, Love, Etc is my ideal and desire to mix all of ways of memory keeping. I went paper and pocket style after staring at all the wonderful collections I have. I started a 8×10 page to go next to a 12×12 pocket page for my PL album with a random photo taken this week in my new space. This was taken to show off all the wonderful light I have now. ♥
I chose goodies from the new Confetti line and Party Day from Crate Paper. (pure YUM!) Background paper: Find your Wings and Fly – Rhonna Farrer , and Flags: Hey You – Basic Grey.
Before you say anything, yes …. I mix whatever designs I want on my pages. I am loyal to them all, but refuse to stay in a box or color in the lines. I gravitate taste wise to specific companies like Crate Paper for the style, feel and quality. They are always in my top five. I especially love papers that I can cut and use on both layouts and pocket pages. Look at all these goodies from just 3 papers!
I find it funny to add hats to birthday photos so I included one this time as well. Filling up the top corner with balloons and flags, and using those fabulous number cut outs. A bit of washi for a touch of bling and staples. Say what? Yes, I did … I stapled most of those things onto the page. That’s how I roll some days
As always, I added a bit of journaling. It doesn’t have to be thought provoking stuff, just a blip about the photo or day or moment. Something someone can read many years down the road and know what was going on with that crazy lady wearing a fake hat.
The page went into a page protector and next to the 12×12 I will finish after I celebrate my birthday. I chose a day at the beach but am waiting for that to happen. The recent cloudy days here along the coast is almost as bad as watching the paint dry in my office this past week.
PL to me, doesn’t mean every moment in your life but the moments you want to give life. I love going about it all in a rather haphazard way, much like many of our lives. I sometimes share these photo, moments, and project on my Instagram account first, so please feel free to follow me by clicking HERE or clicking below .
